The goal of the PADI Instructor Development Course is to prepare candidates to function as PADI Open Water Scuba Instructors.

A 20% deposit is required to confirm your booking. You can clear the balance in our centre.

The Instructor Development Course is designed to further develop the leadership and teaching abilities of candidates to instructor level and prepare them to begin teaching PADI courses after successful completion of a PADI Instructor Examination.

With a permanent Course Director on staff and a dedicated support team of staff instructors only teaching for Silent Divers you’ll get the benefit of their experience and knowledge resulting in the best diving instruction available, who will not just teach you to pass the PADI instructor exams but to fully prepare you for working as a PADI Open Water Scuba Instructor.

Silent Divers believes that all training offered should be of the highest standard and there for limit the number of candidates on each of the instructor development courses we run with extra one to one tuition available when needed. Your success is our goal.

  • Be certified as a PADI Divemaster or a PADI Assistant instructor or be an instructor in good standing with another training organization for at least six months (check with a PADI Course Director or contact us for qualifying credentials.)

  • Be certified as an Emergency First Responder Instructor

  • Be at least 18 years old

  • Be certified as a diver for at least six months


  • Have 60 logged dives that include experience in night, deep and navigation diving to participate in the Instructor Development Course. You’ll need 100 logged dives to take the Instructor Exams

  • Have proof of C.P.R. and First Aid training within the last 24 months. The Emergency First Responder course meets this requirement

  • Be fit for diving and submit a Medical Statement signed by a physician within the last 12 months

There are a number of application and examination fees, all of which must be paid by the candidate directly to PADI.
